Ravelry Olympics

I haven't blogged in a while, but believe me I've been busy! The Ravelry Olympics are up and running (or rather, stitching) and Team Oz is counting on me to bring back the gold in the Lace Weight Long Jump event!

The idea behind the Ravelry Olympics is to set your own goal and reach that goal within the time frame of the Olympics. My goal was to start and finish the Faux Russian Stole from A Gathering of Lace. This picture shows how is appears in the book, and my chosen yarn.

And here it was yesterday, with 2 of 5½ chart repeats completed. At first, I thought this might be too much of a challenge for such a short time, but it seems to be going smoothly and soon I'll have a lovely new stole to wear. Yes!

It's knitting up beautifully! The pattern is already showing up so nicely -- my lace knitting always looks like a crumpled mess until it's blocked.
